Child visas
A child under 18, or 18 to 24 and studying full time, or over 18 with a disability, who is dependent on a parent who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen can be sponsored for a 101 visa from outside Australia or an 802 visa in Australia; the Department must be satisfied that everyone who can legally decide where the child lives consents, or that the law of the child's home country allows them to leave, or that the move is consistent with any Australian child order. A child of a 309 or 820 holder applies for a 445 visa and is then added to the parent's permanent application.
